Our History
Welcome to the world of ESH - where passion for bass meets craftsmanship excellence since 1987!
Born in the heart of Aachen, Germany, ESH emerged from the creative minds of three visionary bassists: Erhardt, Sonntag, and Hövelmann. Fueled by their dissatisfaction with the status quo, they dared to dream bigger, crafting a sonic revolution that redefined bass excellence.
Fast forward to today, ESH continues to push boundaries under the new visionary leadership of Petr Vykydal and NBE since 2012. With production now nestled in the musical enclave of Hořovice, Central Bohemia, our legacy of innovation thrives amidst the echoes of tradition.
Renowned across the globe, ESH basses have graced the hands of musical luminaries like Peter Steele (Type O Negative), Adam Duce (Machine Head), Ted Lundström (Amon Amarth), Hiisi (Lordi), Mikael Hedlund (Hypocrisy) and Kay Lutter (In Extremo), to name a few. Our instruments embody the perfect harmony of artistry and durability, crafted exclusively from the finest European and American materials.
But our commitment doesn't stop at excellence - it extends to sustainability. At ESH, every note resonates with eco-conscious craftsmanship. From utilizing renewable wood sources to powering our facilities with solar energy, we harmonize with nature every step of the way.
Unlike mass producers, we hand-select each piece of wood, ensuring that every instrument is as unique as the musician who wields it. Our ambition is simple yet profound: to craft instruments that meld seamlessly with the musician, embodying timeless elegance and unparalleled playability.
Join the legacy. Elevate your sound with ESH - where tradition meets innovation, and every chord and note sings a story of passion and precision.
