The Esh tradition

Esh instruments have been co-developed with Christof Kost (www.christof-kost.de) well known custom luthier and instrument maker. Our designs are based on his work through the 80s and 90s to offer premium instruments to the masses. His experience in guitar-building, combined with his innovations have yielded incredible results. This man founded a lot of the image of Esh as noble builder for German basses.



Esh-Made in Germany

Precision engineered and built by Master craftsmen in Germany to be the ultimate expression of perfection. Burgthann is located in the south of Nuremberg (3miles to one of the worlds famous Guitar Hardware Company: Schaller) far away in the heart of the very traditional German music instrument making scene and surrounded by deep forest.



Esh-Special

Esh's famous innovations include the flexible Esh-tronic circuit, which includes a Piezo pickup in the bridge. This design has been updated using the most current technology, and is evident on all Esh basses.

All Bolt-on models feature our patented Ultra Contact neck pocket construction, developed in accordance with Christof Kost.

In the result the well-known ESH-Tronic supplies a precise, abyss-deep and nevertheless naturally outlined low tone.



Esh-Woods

Esh basses utilize premium tone woods including:

  • North American Hard Maple
  • Mountain Maple
  • American Swamp Ash
  • European Ash

and AAA or AAAA grade Solid Tops including:

  • Burled Poplar
  • Flame Maple
  • Quilted Maple
  • Rosewood
  • Wenge

as well as other much sought-after woods.

We pay best attention to quality in stature, grain and storage.

Since we are not a mass manufacturer, we can select ourselves the wood for each instrument individually.
